My Astronaut Days

 I am Evan Yang, 8 years old. My dream is to be an astronaut in order to get close to learn more about our galaxy secrets.  With the support of generous sponsors and Make-A-Wish^® Hong Kong, my dream came true at the Space Camp in Alabama, the U.S. 

Except for Houston and Kennedy Space Center, Huntsville Space and Rocket Center is the only site that provides a stay-in campus. In the 4-day camp, it was a great pleasure to meet lots of new friends of my age.  They were all local people who flew from different states in the U.S. We played, learned and ate together during my time in the camp.

Exciting activities made up our daily schedule from 8am to 9pm. I experienced a ride in the moon working car, a simulation of a space mission, a moonwalk, an operation of the space ship landing and departure and 4-dimensional training. I also interviewed an in-service astronaut and performed different experiments. To my great surprise, I bumped into Star Wars characters, Darth Vader, Storm Trooper, Master Yoda and R2D2. I liked them very much.

It is difficult for me to single out what I liked the best at the camp, but if I must, I say it was the "EXPERIENCE". Seeing the Astronaut - Dr. Story Musgrave, I found every dream is possible!
