Summer Party 2011
It’s the 6th year that children of MAWHK have spent a part of their summer holiday at this luxurious hotel. This year’s party was like a carnival and a rehearsal of the Comics and Animation Fair. Children who arrived early in the great hall had their hand prints set in colourful clays. The magical hands of volunteers twisted balloons into different figures and many children were crowned as kings and queens or monkeys or tigers at the balloon counter. As soon as the party formally began, the children witnessed a Star Wars show. Some children took photos with their favourite characters, and some made use of their balloon swords and became their own kings and fought against the performers.
The guest of the day, Mr. Spenser Leung, brought much joy to the event. Children winning the game of a modified version of “ATM”, will not forget his generosity in offering hints. Children and parents also cooperated well in the game of “Collector”. The variety and difficulty of the skipping rope performances astonished many children their heart beat as fast as the performers! When it came to the most complicated skipping, everybody had their eyes fixed on the performers’ feet as the ropes turned, fearing the slightest chance of the feet moving slower than the ropes.

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong brought the most delicious and attractive food. Thank you very much to Grand Hyatt Hong Kong for their continuous support in bringing joy to Wish Children, and to partners who generously sent our children many gifts. Last but not least, we must thank the volunteers who helped in the party, those that performed on stage, twisting balloons, arranging for transport, etc. Together, we made this party a success and brought a wonderful moment to the children!for the Wish Children. Each child could pick his favourite food: hamburgers, salads, sandwiches, dim sum, cakes, ice-cream, etc. Plates and plates of good food were had and the children enjoyed themselves very much. At the end of the party, volunteers helped to pull down the ties of the balloons over each table and shared the balloons with the children. Children went home happily with a cloud of balloons held above them.
