Oscar's wish - publish his story books

Oscar loves drawing and creative writing; he has started to make his own cartoon figures with his little brother when he was a kindergarten student. He was diagnosed with lymphoma at his 14 years old. The treatment process was painful and limited Oscar daily activities. Nevertheless, it could not stop him from perusing his dream, to have his own illustration story book published.

During his treatment period in the hospital, he completed his first book, entitled "The Lion's Menu" which is about a greedy lion's story. With the sponsorship from California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) and professional support by local famous illustrator, Miss Alice Mak, 2,000 copies of Oscar's book were published in early 2008. To enrich Oscar's wish, CPK made 2,000 tote bags by one Oscar's picture -the greedy lion, as a set with the story book.

A ceremony was held at The Time Square on 2nd February 2008 to celebrate the launch of his new book. On the Wish Day, everyone there was touched by his courage, passion and perseverance in overcoming the barriers to achieve his dream. He thanked for the support from the others, including Prof Rosie Young, the Chairperson of Make-A-Wish® Hong Kong (MAWHK) and Ms Lucy Prananto, the President & CEO of Golden Pillars (HK) Ltd for California Pizza Kitchen. Furthermore, Mr. Alan Tam, a renowned artist, gave his support to this meaningful event and co-hosted the unveiling of the book, "The Lion's Menu". He supported Oscar at the charity sales counter by selling the book together with him. Alan also witnessed the presentation of a "Wish Visa" from CPK and Oscar to MAWHK to grant another four children's wishes from the sales of the book and tote-bag.
